Compare the best prop firms of 2026

A prop firm gives a trader access to a funded account after a paid evaluation: you pay an entry fee, respect risk rules (daily loss, maximum drawdown, profit target), and keep a share of the profits — usually most of them. This page compares every firm we track on the criteria that actually decide the outcome: entry price, number of evaluation phases, drawdown type, profit split, payout delay and available platforms.

Each firm carries an independent score out of 100 built on six weighted pillars, and every figure below comes from the firm's own website, dated on the day we checked it.

Prop firm FAQ

What is a prop firm and how does it work?
A proprietary trading firm sells a paid evaluation — the "challenge". You trade a demo account under risk rules: a profit target to reach, a maximum daily loss, and a maximum total drawdown. Pass, and the firm allocates you a funded account and pays you a share of the profits, typically 80 to 90 %. You never deposit trading capital: you only pay the evaluation fee, which is often refunded on your first withdrawal.
What is the difference between static and trailing drawdown?
Static drawdown is measured from your starting balance and never moves, which makes the limit easy to track. Trailing drawdown follows your gains upward — the loss threshold rises as the account grows. End-of-day trailing updates once a day on the closing balance; intraday trailing follows the highest point reached during the session, including unrealised gains. It is by far the rule that eliminates the most traders.
What does a prop firm challenge really cost?
The advertised price is only the starting point. The real cost includes resets after a failed attempt, activation fees when moving to a funded account, and for futures firms a monthly subscription plus market data fees. Our challenge cost calculator adds these up per firm so you see the cost to first payout rather than the headline price.
Are prop firms regulated?
Not as such. A prop firm does not hold client funds and does not execute live orders on behalf of third parties: it sells an evaluation service. It therefore falls outside FCA, CySEC or AMF investment-firm supervision. That is precisely why track record, payout history and corporate transparency weigh so heavily in our score.
How does your score out of 100 work?
It aggregates six weighted pillars: trust and track record (25 %), trading conditions (20 %), payouts (20 %), rules fairness (15 %), pricing and value (10 %), support and UX (10 %). Any firm under watch is capped at 59, and flagged firms receive no score at all. The full methodology is published, and commercial partnerships never influence the rating.
Can a prop firm refuse to pay?
It happens, and it is the main risk in this industry. The stated reason is almost always a rule breach: drawdown exceeded, trading during a restricted news release, copy trading across accounts, or an unauthorised expert advisor. Read the terms before paying, favour firms with a long and verifiable payout history, and be wary of vague rules or terms the firm can change unilaterally.
Which prop firm should a beginner choose?
Look for three things: static rather than trailing drawdown, no time limit to pass the phases, and a low entry price on a small account size. No consistency rule helps too, since it otherwise prevents you from making most of your profit on a single good day. Our beginner ranking applies exactly these filters.
